May the Fourth be with you, fellow crafters! Today, we have a free crochet pattern for Porg from Star Wars, the super cute bird-like creature, to celebrate this iconic day!
We decided to crochet Porg from Star Wars this year because we’re currently running our Romance of the Animal Kingdom workshop – and we think he fits right in with all the other animals!
Our favourite feature is Porg’s innocent puppy-eyes, where we used 13mm safety eyes. He looks like he wants a bite of Fuwa-Fuwa Chan’s little Carrot Friend, doesn’t he? Run away, Fuwa-Fuwa! Keep your Carrot Friend safe!
We also like using our velvety soft Puppy Yarn to make sure Porg keeps his adorable looks, but any 4ply yarn will be suitable for this pattern. Porg almost resembles a pet bird and will be about 13 cm tall.
You can purchase all of the materials and tools used on our website.

INSTRUCTIONS
- Our amigurumi are mostly done in continuous rounds starting with a Magic Ring. You don’t need to end with a slip stitch. Do use a stitch marker to mark the last stitch of every round at all times.
- You may wish to download the Counter+ app to help you with your counting.
- Please crochet the stitches tightly to prevent the polyfiber stuffing from showing. However, do not crochet too tightly otherwise it’ll be difficult to continue.
- Be sure to push the washer down only the first screw of the safety eye to prevent bulging.
- Always stuff your amigurumi firmly till the point that it feels bouncy.
- Always leave a long tail for sewing.

- Part 2 of muzzle should fit underneath part 1 of muzzle, and is situated slightly below so that it will be slightly exposed under part 1 of muzzle.

- Lastly, attach the belly to the body, and you are done!
We really hope you enjoy the pattern 🙂 Our Chief Designer, Angie, actually completed this pattern while on holiday in JB and Penang, so our little Porg has started his travels and is making his way across the universe!
As the wise Yoda once said, “Do. Or do not. There is no try.” Don’t forget to bookmark this pattern in case you are going to crochet our chibi Yoda from Star Wars pattern this year instead.
Or you can do both! After all, after May the Fourth, it’s Revenge of the Fifth!
