Make a WildBeary – Free amigurumi pattern
What could have been more eventful than crocheting cute little bears for the underprivileged children in Singapore. These bears will also be used to raise funds for the Presbyterian Community Services. We have designed this series of free bear pattern to be made for the kids this Children’s Day.
We are introducing to you
~ CookieBeary ~
~ GingerBeary ~
~ MilkieBeary ~
and lastly!
~ ChocoBeary ~
We will be sponsoring the materials and organising the making of WildBeary with the community. Looking to hit a target of 1,000 bears by 30 September 2021 to be given out on Children’s Day.
In order to achieve the target, we’re hoping to get the help of the crochet community to commit a minimum of 6 bears each or until all the collected yarns are used up.
We want this event to be an inclusive event so please get your friends to join in the #crochetfun!
How to be eligible?
- You must have completed at least 2 amigurumi in your entire crochet life
- You must be able to crochet tight stitches
- You must have a heart of gold
- You like to be part of the #crochetfun
Please note that this project is not suitable for newbies. There will not be any form of teaching. You should already know how to do magic ring, single crochet, increase and invisible decrease. You should already own a crochet hook and darning needle.
How to participate?
- Drop by TRH to collect your #wildbearykit from 23 August 2021 onwards
- Fill up the excel sheet in our studio and place a deposit on the items at TRH
- Follow the free pattern below
- You must join our
FB groupTelegram Channel to keep yourself updated with the latest news, and our Telegram discussion group Q&A and photo submission! - Drop by TRH to submit your completed #wildbearyfam and collect your deposit
[UPDATE] We require everyone who are participating in the #wildbeary to join our Telegram to keep us updated with your crochet progress. We would like to ensure that the bears are of standard before handing in (for eg whether the sttiches are tight enough, wear the stuffing is enough etc)
How are we calculating the deposit?
[Update] We have brought in 50g of Milk Tea for Milkie Beary. Each ball of 50g yarn can make 4 bears. Thus we have updated our minimum number of bears for submission to be 6 bears. (1x 50g yarn and 1x 25g). We need more Milkie Beary to be made.
Where are we located?
62A Smith Street, Singapore 058964
3min walk from Chinatown MRT Station, Exit A

Catona is safe to use by those with a sensitive touch such as babies or children, not to mention that this yarn is produced using recycled waste water, offering a more sustainable choice as well for eco conscious crafters., which is proven to be safe and allergy-free to the skin. We will not accept other colours or other brands for safety reasons and consistency. No reimbursement for those who wish to use your own yarns.

- You may wish to download the Counter+ app to help you with your counting.
- Please crochet the stitches tightly to prevent the polyfiber stuffing from showing. However, do not crochet too tightly, otherwise it’ll be difficult to continue.
- Be sure to push the washer down only the first screw of the safety eye, so as to prevent bulging.
- If you’re using a smaller washer, you have to push down twice.
- Always stuff your amigurumi firmly till the point that it feels bouncy.
- Always leave a long tail for sewing.
- When felting, ensure that the needle is perpendicular to object.
