With all the bustling going on outside, one can find peace within the realm of yarn and amigurumi! Here we are, introducing the secret place on earth – Tiny Rabbit Hole. Ok, it’s funny why we are introducing ourselves, but there are people who weren’t aware that this is more than a workshop studio =D Yes, we sell amigurumi and crochet necessities too, as well as a Creative Space!
Do you sell safety eyes, nose, yarns, crochet hooks, blah blah blah?
YES! Let me give you a run through of what we have in store for you.
Our Tools
Our policy at Tiny Rabbit Hole is that every student or customer who buys tools from us gets to own them for a lifetime. We only use high quality Japanese tools such as Tulip and Clover brands. They have been surviving in the market for years due to their astound quality. It has been proven and tested that these hooks do not bend easily and the rubber doesn’t melt or become sticky over time. The metal doesn’t tarnish too. All of us would only need a set of tools which can be passed down for generations.
Crochet Hooks
Tulip or Clover?
We sell the individual hooks as well as a set. Some people might be wondering which is better. Tulip or Clover? From my point of view, I’ve used both brands and I love both of them a lot. My first hook was a 2.5mm Clover Soft Touch. I purchased it a decade ago. Over the years, my rubber grip came off (the new hooks are made differently now), but the hook is still in super good working condition. I also own my mum’s full metal Tulip crochet hooks which she doesn’t use any more. They are of various sizes between 0.75-1.9mm. What I realised was that the older folks in Singapore used to own Tulip hooks before the trend died off. Similarly, these old Tulip hooks has stood the test of time. They neither rust nor break.
You may read more about my opinions in this post for a full comparison between these 2 reputable brands.
I own a set like this as it has all the things I need in a nice pouch. There are 10 hooks, a pair of scissors and 2 yarn needles. However, if you don’t like pink, don’t worry. There’s a grey set.
In this set, there’s a pair of scissors, 2 yarn needles and a ruler. There are only 8 hooks.
Please take note of the hook sizes before purchase
Scissors
Generally any pair of scissors that can cut easily is a good pair of scissors. We like to use this scissors because it’s very sharp and it can cut tight corners do to its sharp and thin blades.
Yarn Needles
These needles comes with various eye sizes (you can thread through thin to thick yarns). It has a magnetic pouch making it easy for you to keep your needles.
Stitch Markers
Some students commented that our stitch markers are much thinner and it can lock, making it more secure when they’re working on amigurumi projects.
Felting Tools
Safety Eyes and Noses
Premium Yarns
We keep stock of quality premium yarns as we believe that good yarns go a long way. You wouldn’t want to make some amigurumi, scarves or bags that only last for a month and started disintegrating. We are also particular about the reputation of our manufacturers, and how ethical they are in their manufacturing process. Our yarns are mainly from Europe and UK.
Soft to the touch, pretty colours, and it doesn’t fray or pill.
Similar to Katia Bulky Cotton except colour range and softness is different.
Adds a shine to what you make, very tough and heavy duty. Suitable for making bags.
Very soft and has a series of pretty pastel colours. Perfect for amigurumi. Pills slightly over time.
Perfect yarn to make a huggable plush! Might not be easy for beginners.
If you’re looking to make shiny stuff like the unicorn’s horn!
We also stock Crown yarns. They have the widest range of colours! We’re also always testing out new yarns and wide colour range so that all of us can make all sorts of plushies!
