Crocheting at a Cat Cafe

It was a lazy day and I decided to visit the feline animals to chill! I knew that there was a Cat Cafe near my old studio at Clarke Quay but I was too busy towards the end of the year and didn’t had the time to go.

This cafe has a very cute signage jutting out from the sides of the building. They also had a cute billboard to notify people about the cafe. I went up the stairs, seeing all those lovely cat decals on the staircase and was very inspired by it!

Stepping into the cafe, a cafe attendant ran through the cafe information with me. Shoes has to be off to keep the environment clean for the cats. I got a cup of hot chocolate and went in. As the cats were all sleeping, I took out my sketchbook to sketch them in various poses. It was pretty fun =) Some of the cats woke up as the sun was had risen high in the sky, and… went back to sleep again.

There’s also a mini display of cute plushies for sale!

Halfway through, I decided to move to the bay window seat to work on my crochet bucket bag. It has a super awesome view of the cityscape and it was pretty bright and warm there. How I wish that my studio has this kind of view too!

The cats were sleeping by the window and I just sat quietly there crocheting away. One of the cats woke up and meowed. She was looking super attentively in one direction and I wasn’t sure what she was looking at. Until I looked in the direction she was looking at and found a bird perching on the signboard outside the window.

This was the bag I was working on that day.

My ball of yarn fell and then I felt some tugging underneath my chair. Another cat was happily playing with it! One of the friendly customers helped me to pick up my yarn as I was sitting on a high stool and was unable to get down with the cat underneath me. It was a bit gooey and I had to cut it off =( But it was a good laugh for me!

It was a satisfying experience and I would like to go there more often if only there wasn’t such a high entrance fee. Thank you feline friends for making my day!
